Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport - Gorilla Tour in Rwanda

When you arrive at Kigali International Airport and finish going through customs, your guide will invite you and then take you in a car to your accommodation.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After you eat breakfast, you can either drive to Nyungwe Forest or choose to fly there with a private charter flight from Kigali. Nyungwe Forest National Park is a place that is keeping safe the biggest area of Montagne forest left in Africa. It is a place with a lot of different types of plants and animals. There are 86 kinds of mammals, 280 types of birds, and around 100 different kinds of orchids. 

This place is very important for bird watching in Rwanda. Once you feel comfortable, you will be able to go on a walk through the treetops in the forest. The canopy walk is great for bird lovers because it helps them see many different kinds of birds in the forest. While you are walking on the elevated path through the trees, keep an eye out for some interesting birds like the Rwenzori Turacco and the black and white casqued hornbill. You should also make sure to notice the big groups of colobus monkeys.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest

After you eat your morning meal, you will go on a hike to see chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest. Nyungwe Forest National Park is a place that keeps the biggest part of montane forests in Africa safe. Nyungwe National Park is famous for its primates. This lush rainforest is home to an impressive 13 different types of primates. This includes the chimpanzee, which is man’s closest living relative, as well as the L’Hoest’s monkey and many joyful groups of Black and White Colobus monkeys.

Day 4: Transfer to Akagera National Park - Gorilla Tour in Rwanda

You can decide to either drive or fly from Nyungwe to Akagera National Park using a private charter flight. Afterwards, the Magashi Shuttle will come and take you to the Lodge, or you can choose to drive to Ruzizi Tented camp. The Park is surrounded by beautiful hills, big leafy forests, and sunny acacia woods. This makes it a great place for animals and people to enjoy. If you have enough time, you will go on a drive in the afternoon and see animals like giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, spotted hyenas, and lots of birds.

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema

Today, you will go on a safari in the morning in the park, and in the afternoon, you will take a boat ride on lake Ihema. You will ride on a boat next to the water and there will be a lot of trees there. You will also see big hippos in the water and crocodiles both in the water and on the land.

Day 6: Transfer To Volcanoe National Park - Gorilla Tour in Rwanda

After eating breakfast, we will leave for Parc National des Volcanoes. You can decide to take an airplane to the park. When you fly, you will take a private plane from Akagera to Volcanoes National Park. The trip goes through the pretty hill slopes that make up a big part of Rwanda’s scenery. It slowly goes up to reach the bottom of the amazing Virunga volcanoes, which sometimes have as many as five peaks that can be seen. You can either relax in the afternoon or go and check out the town of Ruhengeri.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Or Optional Activity

Today, you have two options for getting to Kigali town: driving or taking a private charter flight. When you arrive, you will go to the genocide museum and also have a quick tour of the capital city. You will leave for the airport and take a flight to go back to your home.

Day 8: Travel Back to Kigali

This morning you will be taken back to Kigali where you will have the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Instruction and Devotion Center, which may be a lasting tribute to those who were murdered during the Holocaust. 1994.
