Day 1: Arrival at Kigali - Wildlife of Rwanda

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport and the completion of necessary formalities, your guide will extend a warm welcome and accompany you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in one of two authentic Rwandan experiences – Wildlife of Rwanda

You can begin with a “Urwagwa” experience, a traditional process of crafting banana wine. This fascinating process involves the fermentation of mashed bananas, often with the addition of sorghum or millet to facilitate the fermentation.

Coffee Master Class

Alternatively, you may choose to participate in a coffee master class, an engaging adventure that includes a brief history lesson about coffee, hands-on cherry harvesting from coffee trees on a coffee farm, and the chance to create your own unique coffee blend.

No matter which option you select, your arrival in Rwanda promises to kickstart your journey with a rich dose of cultural immersion and unforgettable experiences.

Day 2: Fly to Akagera National Park - Wildlife of Rwanda

Today, after enjoying a hearty breakfast, your adventure continues as you’re dropped off at Kigali Airport for your private charter flight to Akagera National Park. During the flight, you’ll have the option to take in the scenic beauty of the park from the air before landing.

Upon your arrival at Akagera National Park, you will be warmly received by the Magashi Shuttle and transferred to your lodge. The park is characterized by picturesque rolling plains, dense broad-leafed forests, and vibrant acacia woodlands, creating an inviting habitat for both wildlife and visitors.

Game Drive

If time allows, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive, offering you the chance to spot a variety of mammals such as giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, spotted hyenas, and a plethora of bird species. It promises to be an exciting wildlife encounter in this diverse and captivating park.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema - Wildlife of Rwanda

Today’s itinerary begins with an early morning game drive in the park, offering you the opportunity to witness the park’s wildlife in their natural habitat. Following your game drive, you’ll return to your accommodation for a break.

In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a captivating boat ride on Lake Ihema. As you sail along the water’s edge, you’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation, including several trees. Keep a lookout for the many giant hippos that inhabit the area, some of which may be seen partially submerged in the water, while others bask along the shore. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to spot several crocodiles, some in the shallows of the water and others sunning themselves on the shoreline. It promises to be an enchanting and wildlife-rich experience on the water.

Day 4: Fly to Volcanoes National Park - Wildlife of Rwanda

Following breakfast, your journey continues as you depart for Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park). This leg of your journey involves a private charter flight from Akagera to Volcanoes National Park. During this scenic flight, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Rwanda’s picturesque terraced hillsides, which are a defining feature of the country’s landscape. As you gradually ascend, you’ll approach the awe-inspiring Virunga volcanoes, with the possibility of seeing up to five peaks on a clear day.

Volcanoes

Upon your arrival in Volcanoes National Park, you’ll have the option to spend your afternoon at leisure, allowing you to unwind and soak in the surroundings. Alternatively, you can choose to explore the town of Ruhengeri, providing an opportunity to discover the local culture and atmosphere.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking - Wildlife of Rwanda

Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. As you soar through the skies, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning aerial views of Southwestern Uganda, with its rolling hills, lush vegetation, and the picturesque farming landscapes tended to by the local communities. Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you’ll catch your flight back home, concluding your memorable journey filled with remarkable wildlife encounters and the natural beauty of Uganda.

Day 6 :Fly Back to Kigale and Depart - Wildlife of Rwanda

On the final day of this remarkable journey, you’ll embark on a private charter flight to Kigali. Upon landing in the capital city, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Genocide Museum, a solemn and significant historical site that pays tribute to the events of the Rwandan Genocide.

Museum Visit

After your museum visit, you can enjoy a brief city tour of Kigali, providing you with a glimpse of the city’s lively culture and ambiance.

If you haven’t had the chance to partake in the banana wine-making experience or the coffee master class, today offers you the opportunity to choose either of these enriching cultural activities.

Later in the day, you will proceed to the airport for your flight back home, bringing to a close your unforgettable journey through the diverse landscapes, wildlife, and rich culture of Rwanda.
