Uganda Gorilla Trip Overview

Uganda Gorilla Trip – This safari will let you see and walk with two types of apes. They are the rare mountain gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable forest and the chimpanzees in Kibale national park. There are also chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge of Queen Elizabeth national park. These apes are similar to humans in many ways and have unique personalities. In this trip, you will get to see different animals, birds, and creatures that live in water. You will also join a community walk to meet the people who live there.

Day 1: Arrioval at Entebbe International Airport - Uganda Gorilla Trip

Once you arrive at Entebbe international airport, our safari guide will meet you and welcome you. They will help you with your luggage and then drive you to the hotel in Kampala for dinner and to stay overnight – Uganda Gorilla Trip

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park - Uganda Gorilla Trip

Eat breakfast at your hotel and then go to Fort Port. While there, stop for lunch and take a break. Afterward, continue your journey through the beautiful hills of Kibale. You’ll be able to see how local people make a living from farming. When you arrive at Kibale National Park in the evening, you will go to the place where you will stay for dinner and sleep – Uganda Gorilla Trip

Day 3: Chimp Trekking and Bigodi - Uganda Gorilla Trip

Try your best to wake up early so you have enough time to eat breakfast. Then go to kibale headquarters for a meeting before you start trekking to see the chimps. Afterwards, you will go to the forest and start looking for these incredible animals. The length of your search will depend on how the animals move around. Once you find them, you will watch them closely as they go about their daily activities such as eating, playing, and taking care of their babies. 

If you want, you can take pictures while enjoying the experience. In the forest, you can also see other primates like managabeys, pottos, colobus monkeys, bush babies, and many more. After you finish everything, go back to the hotel to freshen up, eat lunch, and then go to the Bigodi swamp walk as your last activity. During the walk, you will see different birds, plants, and some other monkeys. After the activity, go back to the lodge to have dinner and rest for the night Uganda Gorilla Trip

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elisabeth - Uganda Gorilla Trip

Have breakfast and then start a three-hour drive towards the east of Rwenzori mountains. Afterward, you will arrive at Mweya at the perfect time to have your lunch. After that, you can enjoy a boat ride on the kazinga channel in Queen Elizabeth national park. This activity is very rewarding as you can see different types of aquatic animals and birds. After the activity, you will go to have dinner and spend the night.

Day 5: Chimp Trekking in Kyambura - Uganda Gorilla Trip

In the morning, eat breakfast and then go on a trip in a vehicle to see animals as they wake up. You will see lions and other animals eating smaller animals, like antelopes. You will be able to see many wild animals. Look closely and take pictures. Then go have lunch, and after that, you can either go chimp trekking in Kyambura Gorge or take a walk in Maramagambo forest. You can choose which one you prefer and check the prices. Afterwards, go back to Mweya safari lodge or another place for dinner and to spend the night.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Uganda Gorilla Trip

Eat breakfast after you wake up and get in the car to go to Bwindi impenetrable. On the way, you will pass through the Ishashas area of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can see many different types of animals, including lions that climb trees, Uganda Kob, Topi, Elephants, Buffalos, and more. You’re supposed to arrive in the late afternoon because it will take you a few hours to reach your destination. When you go to the park, first let them know you’re there. After that, you can eat lunch later than usual. If you want, you can also take a walk around the community. Then, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

You will wake up and have breakfast, then go to the park offices for a meeting before you start looking for the very rare mountain gorillas in the forest. You will walk through the forest to start looking for the gorillas. The amount of time you spend in the forest searching will depend on how the gorillas move. Once you arrive at the gorillas, you will have one hour to watch them and take pictures, but make sure not to use a flash because it bothers them. After this exciting experience, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and rest at either Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 8: Go back to Kampala

Get ready to go to Kampala right after you finish eating breakfast. You will have lunch on the way and arrive in the city in the evening. You can arrive at either the Sheraton hotel or the Serena hotel for dinner and to stay the night, depending on your reservation.
