Day 1: When you arrive in Kigali, your primate tour will star – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

Your journey begins when you reach Kigali International Airport. When you arrive, your tour driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Kigali. If you arrive at a certain time, you can have a quick tour of Kigali, which is one of the cleanest and fastest-growing cities in Africa.

On the second day, we will travel from Kigali to Nyungwe National Park – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

During this journey, we will learn about Rwanda’s diverse cultural history.
After you eat breakfast, the person driving your tour will come get you at 7 in the morning to take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southwest part of Rwanda. During your trip, you will go to the ethnographic museum in the Huye district. This museum is well-known for its collection which displays Rwanda’s cultural history and how people live.

On the third day, we will visit Nyungwe National Park – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

We will have the opportunity to go on a Chimpanzee Trekking expedition and also experience a Canopy Walk.
Get ready to start early by going to the ranger station in Gisakura at 4:30 am. You will have a meeting with the park guides to get important information. Then, go on a journey into the forest to meet chimpanzees who are used to being around humans. 

The Nyungwe Forest has around 500 chimpanzees living in it. There are two groups of chimpanzees that are used to people and can be visited for trekking. After a couple of hours in the jungle, you will discover these amazing monkeys and watch them for one hour before going back to the place where you are staying to have lunch. In the afternoon, go to the park’s main office at Uwinka to experience an exciting canopy walk. It is suspended 60 meters above the ground and provides a wide view of the area. You might also see monkeys in the treetops.

On day 4, we will go to Nyungwe National Park – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

where we can take a walk in nature. After that, we will travel to Lake Kivu.
Go on a 3+ hour walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park after eating breakfast. During this nature walk, you can see different animals and plants like monkeys, special birds, healthy plants, beautiful waterfalls, and amazing forest scenery. After the hike, go to Kibuye, which is located next to Lake Kivu. This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in Central Africa. Here, you can chill and relax by the lake.

On the fifth day, we will visit Nyungwe National Park – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

take a boat ride on Lake Kivu. Later, we will travel to Volcanoes National Park.
Begin your day by taking a morning boat trip on Lake Kivu. During the journey, you can appreciate the beautiful views and visit some islands where you can see different animals like bats and various types of birds.

Day 6: We will be visiting Volcanoes National Park and going on a Gorilla Trekking adventure – Gorilla Safaris Rwanda

Get ready to start early when you move to the park office at 7 am. You will be placed in a gorilla group and start your journey into the Volcanoes National Park. There are over 400 gorillas in the park and ten families that are used to human contact. This means you have a special chance to see these amazing animals in their natural home. The length of the trek can be different, so you will need to bring lunch boxes to make sure you are ready. After finding the gorillas, you will spend a valuable hour with them, which will be a really humbling and unforgettable experience. After your activities for the day, you can relax at your lodge for the rest of the day.

On the seventh day of our trip, we will go on a trek to see the Golden Monkeys. After that, we will be leaving our destination.

Depending on when your flight is, you can go on another trip in Volcanoes National Park. This time, you will see the beautiful golden monkeys. This trek is pretty easy because you can find golden monkeys in the bamboo forests on the lower parts of the mountains. After you meet the monkeys, you will go to Kigali to get ready to go back home.
