Safari Tour Uganda Overview

Safari Tour Uganda -From Entebbe to Northern Uganda, and then all the way to the east and South Western regions before returning back to Entebbe. This trip will show you about 70% of the beautiful places to visit in Uganda. During your trip, you will go on various tours to see different animals like chimpanzees and gorillas. You will also have the opportunity to visit a Ugandan home and see how a typical household is run on a daily basis. Every day, people do things like getting milk from cows, making coffee, getting water from a well, making banana juice, and cooking food on a fire.

Day 1: Pick up From Entebbe - Safari Tour Uganda

Safari Tour Uganda – When you arrive at Entebbe international Airport, you will meet an experienced Shoebill safaris guide who will be happy to greet you. Entebbe is a big town in the middle of Uganda, on a piece of land that sticks out into Lake Victoria. It is about 37 kilometers away from Kampala, the capital of Uganda, towards the southwest direction.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls - Safari Tour Uganda

After eating breakfast, go on a drive to the North West of Kampala. Along the way, make a stop at the Rhino sanctuary. Go to Murchison Falls National Park. Murchison is a large area of land that is 3,840 square kilometers in size. It is home to 76 different types of mammals and more than 450 different types of birds. It is 619 meters away from the delta and 1,292 meters away from Rabongo Hill. The average temperature is very cold at 0 degrees Celsius and warmer at 21 degrees Celsius.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise - Safari Tour Uganda

After eating breakfast early, we went on a drive to play games in the morning. You might see special animals from Africa’s savannah, like giraffes, lions, elephants, and different kinds of antelopes. In the afternoon, we will sail down to the bottom of the falls. The waterfalls are very special and breathtaking. They are one of Africa’s most amazing sights and everyone should definitely visit them. We definitely need to mention that Murchison gets its name from these falls. Go see groups of hippos, crocodiles, and many kinds of water birds.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park - Safari Tour Uganda

After we eat breakfast, we might go to the top of the falls to see a really beautiful view. We can get up close to the water as it splashes and pushes through the rocks on its way down to the bottom of the falls and then come back. Go on a trip to Kibale National Park for another fun and thrilling experience.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking - Safari Tour Uganda

After eating breakfast, you can go chimp tracking. It costs $150 per person starting from July 2020 and $200 per person before that. You will get to meet chimpanzees, who are closely related to humans. There are many types of birds in this forest. If you really like watching birds, you will see a lot of different kinds of birds. There are different monkeys that constantly jump from one tree to another as you walk by. Have a meal at the lodge, then later in the day, visit Tooro palace which is situated near Fort portal town. Discover the Tooro culture and, if you can, meet the youngest king.

Day 6: Visit the Historical Site - Safari Tour Uganda

Fort Portal has many cultural places and pretty lakes that show the history of the past. After you eat breakfast, go to the Famous Mabereganyinamwiru and see the milk that locals say comes out of a woman’s breasts after she was thrown into that valley. Come and see the different lakes and valleys surrounded by interesting stories in this area.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elisabeth National Park

After eating breakfast, we will go to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We might also visit the people who live in the park. Discover how these individuals live harmoniously alongside the animals in the Park. Queen Elizabeth is a really big park with lots of different animals to see.

Day 8: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel

After having tea or coffee, go on a morning drive in a big park to see if you can spot any early hunting cats, groups of elephants, antelopes, buffalos, and other animals. Go back to the camp for a big breakfast. After that, you have some free time. In the afternoon, take a boat tour on the famous Kazinga channel. On the tour, you will see groups of Hippos, buffalos, and many different kinds of pretty water birds like jacanas, fish eagles, Shoebill, and pelicans. Yes, you can watch the scary crocodiles sunning themselves.

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi National Park - Safari Tour Uganda

After eating breakfast, go to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park by heading south through the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Ishasha. There is a possibility of seeing lions that climb trees there. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is where gorillas live. They are like human beings. This very dense forest is one of the most untouched and beautiful tropical rainforests in East Africa. People who really like birds will also enjoy this Park.

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking

After eating breakfast, there will be a meeting to discuss the plans for the day. Then, we will go on a guided tour to observe gorillas in their habitat. This activity costs an additional $600 per person, and starting from July 2020, the price will increase to $700. If there is enough time, we can also participate in a special experience to observe chimps. This will cost an extra $1500. In the evening, we have the option to take a walk in the local community and enjoy entertainment by a fire. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is where gorillas live. Gorillas are similar to humans and are the giants of the forest. This very thick forest is still one of the best untouched tropical rain forests in East Africa.

Day 11: Travel to Chahafi

After you eat breakfast, start driving towards Kisoro and keep going until you reach Lake Chahafi. In the afternoon, you can rest and have free time or choose to go on a canoe ride.
Lake Chahafi Resort is located only 20 minutes from Kisoro town in a beautiful, untouched natural area. 
It is surrounded by hills on three sides and there is a tall peak called Mt Muhavura on the fourth side. Escape the hustle and bustle of the busy town and enjoy a peaceful day at the lake or a cozy evening by the fireplace in the bar.

Day 12: Golden Monkey Trekking

After eating breakfast, go to Mgahinga National Park. Here, you have the choice to join in the Golden Monkey Tracking activity for an additional cost of $90 per person.
Then keep going to Lake Bunyonyi. 
Bunyonyi Lake is a very deep lake that is a great spot to unwind and have a good time. If you want to find a quiet, hidden, and romantic location, Lake Bunyonyi is the best spot in Uganda. In the afternoon, you can either rest in the lodge or go swimming in the lake.

Day 13: Drive To Rukungiri

After you eat breakfast, you will go for a drive to Rukungiri. You will stay there for a few days and spend time with the people in the community.
Come and join us on our home stay tours. 
Go to a regular house in Uganda and discover their culture and how they live. There are many things you can do to have fun.

Day 14 - 17: Home Stay

Come on our excursions to stay at people’s houses. Come and see a regular home in Uganda and learn about their culture and how they live.
You can do lots of different things like milking cows, turning milk into butter, gardening, grinding millet to make flour, cooking food using firewood, making banana juice, and much more.

You should consider joining the local women in making baskets, weaving mats, tablecloths, and doing other crafts. 
While you are working with the women, take some time to listen to the traditional songs and stories from the local community. In the evenings, there are activities that showcase the local culture, which can help you unwind and relax after a tiring day at work.
You can also help out at a nearby elementary school and hospital, go for walks to the hot spring, or just ride around in the community.

Day 18: Drive to Lake Mburo

After we finish eating breakfast, we will start going to Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo is home to many different types of animals.
This national park has animals like zebras, elands, and impalas that you typically cannot find in other national parks in Uganda. 
Moreover, Lake Mburo is home to many waterbuck, topi, buffalo, hippo, duiker, bushbuck, klipspringer, and if you’re fortunate, you might catch a glimpse of oribi, reedbuck, leopard, and crocodiles.

Day 19: Lake Mburo National Park

You will get up early and take a walk outside in nature. You will go back to where you are staying for a delicious breakfast, then take a boat ride on the lake. In the afternoon, you will visit the people who take care of the animals in the park to learn about their culture. You will go to their houses, see how they take care of their cows, and watch them make butter from milk.

Day 20 Drive Back to Entebbe

After drinking tea in the morning, you will begin your trip back to Entebbe. You will really like the green scenery on the road and you can also see the famous Ankole long horned cattle. Come and take amazing pictures that you will remember forever when you visit the equator. Get the opportunity to be in both the South and Northern hemispheres at once. Purchase some small items as a memory of the place and enjoy a meal outdoors.

Day 21: Flight Back Home

You will go to Entebbe Airport, take your flight, and go back home.
