Uganda Safari Packages Overview

Uganda Safari Packages – This 15-day trip in Uganda and Rwanda lets you visit both countries and explore Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda. You can experience a canopy walk or go trekking to see chimpanzees. This tour goes to well-known National Parks like Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, where you can see gorillas or go on a trek to see golden monkeys. You can also visit Bwindi Impenetrable National park in Uganda to see gorillas or go on a walk through the forest. 

Queen Elizabeth National park is another stop, where you can go on game drives and take a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Then, you can visit Kibale National park to go chimpanzee trekking and take a walk in the wetlands. The tour ends with a visit to Murchison Falls National park, where you can go on game drives and take a boat cruise to see the falls up close. On this tour, you can go to Jinja town and see where the Nile River starts. You can also try white water rafting, which is a famous activity on this long river. Alternatively, you can take a tour to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is 23 kilometers away in Lake Victoria.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park - Uganda Safari Packages

After you eat in the morning, you will go to Nyungwe Forest National Park to get some information. Then, you will go into the forest to look for chimpanzees. To increase your chances of spotting them, it is important to wake up early. You can also try the exciting canopy walk where you walk through the forest and see birds and other types of primates. Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National park - Uganda Safari Packages

After you eat breakfast, you will go from Nyungwe Forest to Volcanoes National Park. You will arrive in the late afternoon and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Golden Monkey or Gorilla Trekking - Uganda Safari Packages

In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge before going on an exciting drive through the Rwanda Park. The park has clear, beautiful forests where you can go gorilla trekking and experience the natural beauty of the area. This activity makes you feel like you are inside the rainforest. You can hear all the different sounds of birds and monkeys. There are also signs of buffalo and elephant living there. If you don’t want to go gorilla watching in Rwanda, you can visit Diane Fossey’s burial site or see the golden monkeys instead. Eat lunch at the lodge and then rest at the lodge after tiring and exciting activities.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park - Uganda Safari Packages

After you eat breakfast, you need to drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. You will go from Rwanda to Uganda through the Chanika Uganda Rwanda border. After that, you will drive to your Lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi - Uganda Safari Packages

In the morning, after eating breakfast and packing your lunch, you will go to the Park headquarters to register and meet with other trackers. They will give you important information about what you should and shouldn’t do during your Gorilla Tracking at 7:45 am. You will walk through dense plants and bushes with your guides to find the Gorillas, and it may take you anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes to find them. 

The hilly and forested area is very crowded with trees, but there are many paths made by animals that tourists can use. It feels amazing to be with these stunning animals that are in danger of becoming extinct. If you have seen gorillas in Rwanda but don’t want to see them in Uganda, you can choose to take a walk in the forest or visit a local community.

Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elisabeth National - Uganda Safari Packages

This morning you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Get ready to see some amazing views on the route. You will get to the lodge in time for lunch. After that, you will go on a game drive in the plains of Kasenyi to look for savannah animals like buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, and if you’re lucky, some wild cats like lions and leopards.

Day 8: Game Drive and Boat Cruise at Kazinga Channel - Uganda Safari Packages

This morning, you will go back to the plains of Kasenyi for a game drive. You will try to find what you might have missed yesterday. We will eat lunch at the lodge and then go to the jetty along kazinga channel for a boat cruise in the afternoon. This boat trip gives you the opportunity to see animals such as hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and other wild animals that come to the waterway to drink water.

Day 9: Game Drive and Transfer to Kibale National Park - Uganda Safari Packages

After eating breakfast, go for a drive to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Look for wild animals like Elephants, Buffalos, wild cats, Savanna birds, and different types of antelopes such as water buck and Uganda kobs. After you eat lunch, you will go on a drive to Kibale Forest National Park and reach your accommodation in the evening.

Day 10: Chimp Trekking at Kibale National Park - Uganda Safari Packages

This morning, after you eat breakfast, you will go to the park office to meet with other trackers. They will give you some important information. Then, you will go on a chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale Forest National Park. During this walk, there will be opportunities to see many of the 13 different types of primates that live in Kibale Forest National Park. After you eat your lunch, you will go for a walk in the Bigodi swamp. This wetland is owned by the community next to the park.

Day 11: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park - Uganda Safari Packages

Go on a car ride to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will pass through little towns and villages and see beautiful sights of cliffs. You will arrive at the park in the evening.

Day 12: Game Drive and Boat Cruise - Uganda Safari Packages

After drinking a cup of tea in the morning, go to the northern part called paraa for a drive where you can see wild animals like giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, and if you’re lucky, lions and leopards. Go back to the lodge for a lunch break. After that, go to the pier for a boat ride that will take two hours. During the ride, you will see the river Nile getting squeezed into a narrow gorge before exploding out. It will be a really amazing experience.

Day 13: Transfer to Entebbe Throug Rhino Sanctuary - Uganda Safari Packages

Go back to Entebbe by driving. Along the way, stop at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary before going to Kampala to track something. Finally, go to the guest house to stay overnight.

Day 14: Ngamba Island Or Jinja

To get to Ngamba Island, start from Entebbe town and drive directly to the pier. From there, you can board a boat for an afternoon cruise. Ngamba Island is situated on an island in Lake Victoria, approximately 23 kilometers away. This boat ride lasts for one hour and you will see many different birds. You will also go across the equator to reach Ngamba, where you will learn about chimpanzees through an interesting talk.

After the discussion, you will go to see orphaned chimpanzees eating and then come back to Entebbe Main Land for your overnight stay. Ngamba Island is a special place where chimpanzees who were saved from danger are taken care of and helped to get better. These chimpanzees can’t go back to their old homes in the forests, so Ngamba Island becomes their new safe place to live. Join a small group of people to learn about chimpanzees and how to keep them safe. Or, you can go on a drive to Jinja, where you will go through Mabira forest, see small markets along the road, pass by sugar and tea farms, and stop at Ssezibwa falls along the way. Afterwards, you will go on a boat trip to see where the Nile River begins.

Day 15: Departure

After you have finished eating in the morning and depending on when your flight is, you will be taken to Entebbe International Airport for your trip.
