Gorilla Watching Safari Overview

On this 3-day gorilla Watching safari, you’ll pass through the famous Ugandan jungle of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, located in the southwest of the country. The forest is known to protect half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, so it’s a remarkable destination to hike with these incredible gorillas. There are other activities as well, where you’ll find nature walks, community walks, birdwatching for birdwatchers, and more.

Gorilla Watching Highlights

While trekking in Uganda I came across a group of mountain gorillas that allowed me to get really close.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park for Gorilla watching

After breakfast at the hotel, our representative will pick you up early to leave Kampala for the journey to the southwest to the bwindi forest for Gorilla Watching. Along the way, you will stop at the equator, where you can take photos to keep memories, have refreshments, there are also handicraft shops full of African items that you can visit if interested. Returning to the road to continue your journey, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery, a magnificent panorama as well as the wonderful and hospitable Ankole people. Your next stop will be Mbarara for lunch and shopping then straight to the park.

Day 2: Gorilla Watching in Bwindi

After getting dressed properly for your trekking, have an early breakfast, lunch and canned water to the park headquarters in time for a press conference before the activity begins. Next, go into the forest to find the mountain gorillas in the jungle and do Gorilla Watching. with slippery slopes and fog-covered vegetation. After breakfast and guided by the park’s ranger guides, depart with a picnic basket to embark on a 30-minute to 8-hour hike in search of mountain gorillas while climbing and descending Slippery slopes with lush vegetation covered with mist. This activity is certainly challenging but totally rewarding seeing the giant gorillas, you will be able to take pictures and observe their different personalities while they feed, play and tell story. You’re allowed to spend a full hour with these creatures, then come back to clean up for dinner and evening.

Day 3: Bunyonyi Boat Cruise and Transfer to Kampala

This day will mark the end of your three-day Gorilla watching safari. You’ll leave your hotel with your backpacks and then begin your trip to Kampala with a stop at the Igongo cultural center, where you’ll have lunch and take a mini tour of the center to learn more about the culture. Ankole chemistry. Then drive to Kampala, which can be a hotel or an airport in case you need to catch a flight home.
