25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda Overview

Gorilla Hike Uganda will start the 25-day adventure exploring different parts of Uganda, starting with the Source of the Nile here in Jinja and then to the spectacular Sipi Falls and onward. From Jinja, it is estimated that the drive to Moroto, where this kind of culture, K’jong, is embraced, will take six hours. From Moroto, we shall put up at Kidepo National Park and Murchison Falls National Park, where a great variety of game can be spotted.

Will also visit Kibale Forest to see chimps and Semuliki National Park to see Sempaya Hot-springs. Will go further to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, we shall be able to do mountain gorilla trekking, and finally to visit Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National Park – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 2: Visit TheSource of The Nile InJinja – Gorilla Hike Uganda

JinjaisUganda’s second-largest city. This part of the country is known by its regions with Asians, beer factories, and beautiful gardens – Gorilla Hike Uganda
Visit the source of the Nile River in Lake Victoria. From there proceed to Gandhi’s Statue. Itanda Falls and Bosowoko Falls on the Nile River are just a few kilometers from the source. Enjoy white water rafting-an overwhelming undeniable sensation overviewed by Jinja – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 3: Sipi Falls – Gorilla Hike Uganda

We shall go for nature walking early in the morning on this day. We will go to visit the beautiful waterfalls on Sipi River that comes from Mount Elgon. We start at a place called Crow’s Nest where people sometimes camp and spend a night – Gorilla Hike Uganda
On your way to the Virunga volcanoes, you will visit the caves and farms where coffee grows, matooke, and sugarcane. We make sure you have lunch to take with you for the day Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 4: Cultural experience on the Karamoja culture in Moroto – Gorilla trekking Uganda

It is a 10-hr drive from Sipi Falls to Moroto. En route, we will cross the Pian Reserve and visit the markets, among other interesting places, in the Moroto district. Lunch will be en route, and dinner will be at the hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Have breakfast from your place of stay, then embark on a cultural ruffle of the Karamajong people. They are so proud of their very own culture. They are second to none in their passion for cattle rearing from the famous Masai people in Kenya and Tanzania.

They have a very special way of life, these strong fighters; they think that God gave them permission to have cows. They do believe that all cows belong to them, even one, which might belong to other people. Then watch how they live, make their food and have fun, doing their traditional dances. Later in the day today, we’re going to take you to Kidepo National Park.

Day 6: Challenging Game Drive and presence of wildlife around Kidepo

From a decent breakfast, you will then proceed to look out the land and animals of this very faraway place in Uganda. You embark on a thrilling drive on the grasslands, dry river bed, hills, and small forests. Such animals include bufaloes, elephants, warthogs, lions, cheetahs, and birds. Plants and trees wil amaze you as they have somehow survived in a dry part of the country.

You will also make a drive to Karankorog Hot Springs, and on this drive, you will see so many different types of animals. Every drive is a new one, and you feel like you will have the time of your life each time one is undertaken. Day 7: Murchison Falls National Park – Gorilla Hike Uganda

After breakfast, drive to the famous Murchison Falls national park. Later you will reach Murchison Falls National Park, is the largest and safest wildlife area in Uganda. It covers over 3,840 square kilometers. Go upstairs on the Falls to view breathtaking scenery of the waterfalls.

This is the point the river gets narrower from over 1 km wide to only 7 meters. In the process, it falls down with a lot of noise, forming a beautiful rainbow from the waters sprays in the air. It is a wonder on the Nile River. It is possible to eat from here and even sleep near it.

Day 8: Game Drive and Boat Ride – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Then after an early breakfast, set off for the northern part where there is plenty of animals. This game drive will give you an opportunity to have a moment with elephants, lions, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, hippos, and if one is lucky to get the rare leopards. There are also lots of various species of birds.

After lunch, you can go for a 2 hours boat ride to the bottom of the Murchison falls. You see a lot of water flowing at high speed through a small opening, making a lot of noise. The boat ride presents a good portion of water birds and large numbers of mammals like Hippos and crocodiles. Get back to the lodge, take dinner, and retire to sleep at your lodge.

Day 9: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhinos – Gorilla Hike Uganda

One is allowed to come and follow the rhinos in the sanctuary and see them up close. You can even walk up to the animals, and they are not that damaging if you do what you are told. The white rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary are huge and friendly; you can walk up to them safely without any danger.

You’ll be accompanied by a sanctuary ranger who knows how rhino behaves and can explain a lot. It is walking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary whereby you are able to see the Rhinos closely instead of looking at them from inside a vehicle. This also enables you to see White Rhinos of Ziwa near and take unique and amazing photos.

Day 10: Kibale Forest National Park – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Wake up today very early in the morning and then transfer from the place of your choice after having your breakfast. Drive out of the park to Kibale Forest by the Fort-portal / hoima road Kibale Forest is a beautiful African forest. It has 13 kinds of monkeys. Most common among them are chimpanzees. This place is equally good for people who admire birds. There are over 325 different types of birds found there. You drive to this park, you sight beautiful views along the way in your drive.

Day 11: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Walk – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

After your breakfast early in the morning, we shall transfer to the park headquarters where you will spend some short period of time in briefing. Then, we start serialization of journey to observing chimpanzees in the forest. Note: trackers will have only 1 hour with the Chimpanzees by the end of the journey, and the first 10 minutes can be used to take as many clear pictures as possible. 

When observing chimpanzees, other animals that can be seen around are Red Tailed Monkeys, and Blue Monkeys, also Black & White colobus Monkeys, elephants, antelopes, and Buffaloes in the forest can be observed.

Day 12: Semuliki Hot Springs and AmabereGanyamwiru Caves – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Once you are through eating the delicious breakfast, proceed to visit the Sempaya hot springs. They are the most fascinating things to see in Semuliki. These springs have a hole that spews out hot water from a height of 8 meters. The springs have a unique feature: they are so hot that they can cook matooke and eggs extremely fast. Within a few minutes, these foods are ready for consumption. Actually, this is the biggest hot spring in Uganda.

Day 13: Fort Portal and Crater Lakes – 25 Day Gorilla Hike Uganda

Fort Portal is a quite beautiful city, with many visiting places. This actually was the first place where British settlers based in Uganda.
Our first stop would be at the palace of the king of Toro kingdom, and also other places to visit of culture in the Town. The place is the palace of the youngest reigning king he is in the world, Oyo NyimbaKabambaIguru. 

One is going to find some of the traditional wear and the language, cultural resources like historical kings and burial places of kings in Toro Kingdom, lots of artifacts that reflect their culture. One also gets to see the Tooro Botanical Gardens and plenty of the city’s more. Later transfer to a hotel for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14: Crater Lakes and Top of the World Experience – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Visit this village of Rweteera for a community tour and view the natural environment beauty. Go ahead to this neighborhood and see the lovely animals fun chatting with the local people, see the surroundings full of beauty. Visit different lakes, tea farms, and hike up the highest point for the beautiful view of the distant landscapes and Kibale Forest. It is quite an experience, so different and quite nice for a snap. Remember to bring out your camera to capture some nice moments.

You can also choose to paddle on crater lakes. proceed and do your ultimate visit in the region by driving through fort-portal and; visit amabera caves a beautiful place. Later retire back to the hotel in Fort Portal Town for dinner.

Day 15 Transfer to Queen Elisabeth National Park – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Have breakfast, then drive to Queen Elizabeth, one of Uganda’s National Parks. This is a park with very many different wildlife forms, including over 600 species of birds and animals such as buffalo and elephants. This will take about 4 hours to drive, via some very beautiful scenery, including the Rwenzorimountains. Once you reach the park, you go for an evening drive to which you will see lots of animals, eat, and rest at the lodge.

Day 16: Game Drive and Boat Cruise – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Having had your breakfast this morning, you take an early car ride in the park. You will have different animals in the park that may include waterbucks, lions, elephants, hartebeests, giraffes, antelopes, buffaloes, leopard, and warthogs. 

You also view some crater-like lakes. After driving 3 hours, you return for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride for 2 hours on Kazinga Channel and see over 550 hippos, not forgetting birds and other animals like crocodiles, elephants, and antelopes, among others.
You will then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 17: Transfer in the Morning for Game Drive as You Head to Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park – 25 Days Gorilla Hiking Safari Uganda

The next morning, wake up early and depart to see these animals in their different groups and families. This safari can be done in the Kasenyi plains in search of elephants, leopards, buffaloes, water bucks, and beautiful birds. Later proceed by car for about 2 hours to Ishasha, where the lions climb trees. Experienced rangers shall help you encounter these lions, and it is thrilling to watch them in trees. You will then have your lunch at the lodge or carry packed

Day 18: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – 25 Days Gorilla Trek Uganda

This day, you embark on your journey to Bwindi, home to the gentle and giant Mountain gorillas. The drive will take you to Kigezi highlands characterized by many hills shaped like steps. You eat lunch on the way or at the lodge depending on the time of arrival. Have dinner and rest at your accommodation.

Day 19: Gorilla Trekking – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

The large, gentle mountain gorillas have made their homes in Bwindi Forest. These mountain gorillas share 98% of the same DNA as humans. Apart from these gorillas, there is a big variety of flora and fauna which coexist in this area; they include, among others, butterflies, plants, monkeys, mammals, frogs, etc. Having entered the main office, the information you receive is that the rangers will have to take you deep into the jungle to track the whereabouts of the gorillas.

This activity takes 1-8 hours but since the gorillas move in different ways, with them, you only have 1 hour to capture the best moments with them. In case you don’t feel like going to track gorillas, you will choose to undertake a short guided walk within the forest or visit the batwa community. wait and relax at the lodge.

Day 20: Mgahinga National park – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

The smallest park in South West Area of the country is Mgahinga National Park. Here is the only place you can spot golden monkeys within Uganda. There are approximately 5059 golden monkeys here.

This park is located in Uganda in the Virunga Mountains. It is one of the few places in Africa where you can see golden monkeys. Mgahinga is a great place to go gorilla trekking in addition to BwindiImpenetrable National Park. But the best part of visiting this place is to catch the sight of golden monkeys.

Day 21: Golden Monkey Tracking or Gorilla Trekking – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Golden monkey trekking is done at 8:00 a.m. along the Ntebeko trail, and this is a halfday trek. When one finds them, youspend an hour with them before you walk back to where you are staying. We have trained some family to the golden monkeys in Mgahinga National Park, which helps us to study them and help them to get used to humans – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 22: Move to Lake Bunyonyi – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

In this morning, after breakfast and still thinkingabout the past days with gorillas, you will drive on to L.Bunyonyi. It is the 2nd deepest lake in Africa, and a fine place towatch birds. You maysight beautiful views of the hills with locals already up to do their farming. This is a placecalled the “Switzerland of Africa.”.

Day 23: Explore the Islands on Lake Bunyonyi – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

We shall have a good breakfast amidstthe beautiful hills, forests, and morning sun. After a small boat cruise on the lake, your guides might interest you with tales of the 29 long-time islands, including one called Punishment Island. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon take a walk around or climb hills with beautiful forests and lakes. Day 24: Transfer to L. Mburo – 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

After breakfast, you wil drive to Lake Mburo National-Park. It should take you aproximately 4 hours and 30 minutes by car. Enjoy the panoramic view of beautiful landscapes with current farmsand plantations as you drive.

Don’t forget to havelunch along the drive. L. Mburo National-Park is of of the smallest national-parks in Uganda. The park also hosts a large number of Zebras, impalas, oribis, bufaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and over 332 species of birds. You will spend the afternoon at the park best with an evening boat ride on Lake Mburo and take several photos – Gorilla Hike Uganda

Day 25: Transfer to Entebbe- 25 Days Gorilla Hike Uganda

Have breakfast in the morning; proceed for a game drive en route to Entebbe. Stop at the Equator line for lifetime photo moments, with souvenir shopping from a craft shop. Have lunch either at the Equator or Kampala depending on the time of arrival – Gorilla Hike Uganda
