During this 15-day trip to Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar, you will get to experience the amazing nature, wildlife, and stunning beaches that Tanzania has to offer. In Arusha National Park, you can find black-and-white colobus monkeys. In Tarangire National Park, there are big groups of up to 300 elephants. Before you go to Zanzibar, make sure to experience the amazing animals and beautiful views in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Day 1: Arrive in Tanzania - Adventure Tanzania

A Carnivore Safaris staff member will come to get you from Kilimanjaro international airport (JRO). After that, you will be taken to a hotel in Arusha, where you will receive information about your safari that is going to happen soon. Have a peaceful night before you start your adventure the following day – Adventure Tanzania

Day 2: Arusha to Materuni - Adventure Tanzania

After eating breakfast, you can go for a drive to Materuni Falls. These waterfalls are found in the village of Materuni, close to the edge of Kilimanjaro mountain. The soil in this area is good for growing coffee, and the coffee plantations here are considered some of the best in Africa. Go to a coffee farm to learn about how beans grow and get roasted. Then, you can have a cup of coffee made in the Chagga way. Afterwards, you will walk through areas where bananas are grown to reach the Materuni waterfalls. Come to the beautiful waterfall, which is located in a clean valley with very tall cliffs above it. Before going back to Arusha to have dinner and sleep, you can take a swim in the pool made of rocks under the waterfall.

Day 3: Arusha to Tarangire - Adventure Tanzania

After you eat breakfast, go on a drive to Tarangire National Park to see animals. In the evening, go back to the lodge to stay the night. You can go on a wildlife safari where you can see groups of up to 300 elephants near the Tarangire river, which is where the animals get their drinking water. There are over 600 kinds of birds, so be on the lookout for groups of noisy yellow-collared love birds.

Day 4: Tangire National Park To Lake Manyara

After eating breakfast, go for a drive to Lake Manyara National Park to see animals. This park has lots of different kinds of wildlife, like lions that can climb trees. The park is famous for the big groups of flamingos that come to eat near the lake during the rainy season. Go to your hotel or lodge in Karatu in the evening for dinner and to stay overnight.

Day 5: Karatu to Lake Eyasi - Adventure Tanzania

After eating breakfast at the lodge, go to Lake Eyasi to meet two tribes called the Hadza and the Datoga. The Hadza tribe does not have any animals that they take care of, and they do not plant or save their own food. They live by hunting animals and gathering food from the land. The Hadza survive by hunting animals and gathering food from plants using handmade bows and arrows. The Hadza diet mostly includes plants, but they also eat meat, fat, and honey.

The Datoga people come from a group called Nilotic, and they belong to the highland Southern Nilos. They are believed to have relocated to the Lake Eyasi region about 3,000 years ago from the highlands of southern Sudan and western Ethiopia, where they had previously resided.

Go back to the hotel in Karatu for lunch. In the afternoon, you can relax or choose to visit the local market in Karatu. This is after you have learned about and explored the cultures of two different tribes. Have dinner and spend the night in Karatu at your hotel or lodge.

Day 6: Karatu to Ngorongoro - Adventure Tanzania

Go to Ngorongoro Crater after eating breakfast early at the lodge. You will go down into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting safari drive. Many people consider it to be one of the most amazing sights in the world. It is a really big volcano hole that has not been destroyed. It is also a safe place for lots of animals in Africa. This place is one of the very few where you can see the endangered black rhino in its natural home.
You can see the “Big Five” on the game drive and late afternoon drive to Serengeti National Park. They migrate in and out of the crater, which is 2000 ft, so you can also see them during dinner and overnight.

Day 7-8: Serengeti National Park

Come and experience a complete game drive in Serengeti National Park.
After a whole day of watching animals in the Serengeti National Park, have breakfast at the lodge. Try to watch and follow the Great Migration and then go back to the lodge or tent camp in the late afternoon. The Serengeti is famous for having a lot of different animals, with a focus on the “big five. ” 

These animals were given this name because they were highly sought after by hunters. Lions: The Serengeti has the most lions in Africa because there are a lot of animals for them to hunt.
This habitat has more than 3,000 lions living in it. The African leopard is a type of animal that lives by itself and hunts other animals for food. It is often found in the Seronera region of a national park in Africa, but can be seen in other parts of the park too. There are about 1,000 of these leopards in total. African elephants are big elephants that come from Africa.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park to Lake Natron

The Serengeti National Park is a big area of land where animals live and Lake Natron is a nearby lake.
Today, we will go on a drive early in the morning. During this drive, you may see an animal that usually comes out at night after hunting, or a group of female lions planning to surprise their prey in the morning. After that, we will continue the drive to the Northern Serengeti. Leave Klein’s gate and go to Lake Natron. You will arrive in the late afternoon for a walk around the lake while watching the sunset. You can have dinner and stay overnight at Lake Natron.

Day 10: Lake Natron

We spend a whole day going on boat trips to the lake. Watching flamingos and other birds, strolling by the lake with a guide, discovering waterfalls, trekking to the hominid footprint, and more are some examples of these activities. There is a large amount of things to do. Have a drink while watching the beautiful view of Lake Natron, the Lengai and Gelai mountains, and the sun setting behind the Great Rift Valley escarpment in the evening. Dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Natron Lodge or Tented Camp are provided.

Day 11: Lake Natron to Arusha

After you eat breakfast, go to Arusha for lunch. Then, you can either take a flight to Zanzibar from Arusha or from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Day 12: Day Zanzibar

After eating breakfast, you will go on an interesting tour of Stone Town, which has a lot of history.
Discover the fascinating and well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases its magnificent architecture, rich history, and vibrant culture. After you eat lunch, go on a 30-minute boat ride to Prison Island to see the old prison buildings.
Afterwards, you will go on a special trip to explore exotic spices. You will get to try different spices, fruits, and delicious coconut juice from the area. Have a meal and spend the night at a lodge or hotel.

Day 13: Day Zanzibar

After eating breakfast, go to Kizimkazi, which used to be the capital city of Zanzibar and is located at the southern end of the island. From here, you will go on a boat ride to look for dolphins on the east side of the coast. Have a great time snorkeling and then go see the special red colobus monkeys and mangroves in the Jozani Forest. Go to Uroa Bay Beach Resort later today for lunch and more time at the beach.

Day 14: Day Zanzibar

Have a calm and peaceful day at the beach or in the nearby area. Join in one of the various activities in the water and enjoy the sunshine. A day where you can discover the top attractions of Zanzibar, like beautiful beaches with white sand and clear water.

Day 14: Departure

After a incredible trip to Tanzania, you will be brought to the airport to catch your flight home. You had a great time exploring the wilderness and relaxing on the beach, making lots of special memories.
