Day 1: Kigali and Akagera National Park – Gorilla Rwanda Tour

Be met by your Safari Guide upon your arrival for your adventure into the wild. Get introduced to the start of your journey in Rwanda within this beautiful city of Kigali. Your guide will either meet you at Kigali International Airport or at the hotel if you are already here. If you need any items for your upcoming week in Rwanda, please just advise your guide when he collects you. He’ll be happy to make sure you get what you need. It takes about 2. 5 hours Your 2. 5-hour journey to Rwanda begins with a drive to Akagera National Park in the east. Drive up winding roads; as you approach the place of your residence, the mountainous view gives way to flat land. En route, you will stop at a restaurant in Rwanda to lunch with your guide. 

You’ll have a tasty snack of samosas – fried dough with beef, chicken, or veggies inside. You may also sample an ice cold Skol or Mutzig beer made in Rwanda. Day 2: Kigali Pick up and Akagera National Park Game Drive – Gorilla Rwanda Tour

Since it is still not hot in the park, you may catch up with lions and hyenas hunting. Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Gorilla Rwanda

Have great breakfast at your lodge and then proceed to the Park Headquarters to have coffee, tea coupled with music and a performance of the local dancers in the morning. The search for mountain gorillas may take one to eight hours since they keep moving. In the morning, before your arrival, there will already be park rangers in the forest. They start to travel along the path laid out by your gorilla family. 

With your Ranger Guide, these rangers are in constant contact. When we have found the location of the gorillas, we will immediately inform your Ranger Guide about it. Immediately after that, we proceed directly to the gorillas. In the case of a long trek, you will be offered a lunchbox to have before or after visiting the gorillas. After finding the gorillas you will be allowed an hour to view and take shots of the gorillas. You will have sufficient time watching gorillas chat, groove around and playing. You can manage to attend a cultural show of music and traditional dance by the Center’s great drummers and dancers. They also have local performers that recreate a traditional wedding ceremony.  Day 4: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking – Rwanda Gorilla tour

You will set off to track a group of Golden Monkeys after a demonstration and explanation by a Park Ranger on how this is done. 

You then embark on a journey to the starting point for the tracking in the forest. Usually, they feed in the beautiful bamboo forest that is located on the foothills of the mountain. After lunch, your guide will drive you to the Musanze Caves. The caves are an attractive and significant part of any visit to Rwanda, though not so much visited. Wander through the caves in search of old housings used by the people who used to stay here. Day 5: Transfer Back to Kigali – Gorilla Rwanda Tour

Drive to Kigali after breakfast for 1-2 hours. After breakfast, you will have an opportunity to pack your belongings and embark on the journey back to Kigali with your Adventure in the Wild Safaris guide. Have a downhill scenic drive through small towns, tea plantations, and banana farms of western Rwanda along winding mountain roads. Stay where you are or drive back to Kigali International Airport. 

This is optional, but you may wish to have a city tour around Kigali City. If time allows, your driver/guide will be more than happy to stop you in one of Kigali’s famous bakeries, coffee shops, or local markets to browse this incredible artwork available for purchase. Explore the incredible history of the country at the Genocide Memorial Center, then relax with a cup of Rwandan coffee by the memorial’s café or take a short walk through the beautiful gardens of roses outside.
