Congo Visit Overview

Congo Visit – This 5-day Kinshasa experience package allows you to explore Kinshasa city and the areas nearby in the DR Congo. It gives you the chance to see the beautiful Zongo falls. Watching the water falling over the edge into the river will be something you will never forget.

Furthermore, you will meet the Bonobos, who are our closest living family members. We have more than 99% of our DNA in common with them. So, you will go to Kinshasa for a quick tour of the city. There, you will learn about the lively culture and history of Kinshasa. The trip finishes at N’Sele Valley Park.

This park is in the western part of Congo in the Maluku area. Also, the park is being filled with an increasing number of animals that reflect the different types of life found in the Congo. It has lions, impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, rhinos, and elephants. After seeing lions, you can enjoy a beautiful and calm boat ride on the Congo River.

Congo Visit Highlights

Congo Visit

Day 1: Arrival at N'djili International Airport- Congo Visit

When you arrive at N’djili International Airport, a person from JM Jungle Safaris will meet you and take you to your hotel quickly. Take the remaining part of the day to relax and let go of stress.

Day 2: Zongo Water Falls - Congo Visit

You need to leave your hotel in Kinshasa early if you want to go to Zongo Waterfalls. Zongo Park is a beautiful place to visit. It is about 130 kilometers (90 miles) away from Kinshasa. The park has stunning views and is home to the Zongo Waterfalls. The beautiful Zongo falls are one of the most amazing things to see in the DRC. They are 65 meters tall and truly stunning. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to get to Kisantu in Bas Congo, where the waterfall is.

To reach the viewpoints, you need to do some hiking. But the experience of seeing the water cascade over the edge and into the river down below is something you will never forget. Zongo waterfalls are special because when the river water hits the ground, it creates water vapor that rises up into the sky. During the dry season, you can visit the beach that is 10 kilometers away from the waterfall. At the beach, you can enjoy the relaxing feeling of the waterfall massaging your body.

Day 3: Lola Ya bonobo is a sanctuary - Congo Visit

Lola Ya bonobo is a sanctuary for bonobos, which are a type of ape. It is located near Kinshasa, the capital city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. If you go on a Kinshasa City Tour, you might have the opportunity to visit Lola Ya bonobo and see these unique animals.

You need to leave your hotel earlier to get to the bonobos sanctuary by 11 am. The sanctuary is in a place with a lot of trees and it has a lake in it. When you first come into the sanctuary, you will go to the briefing room. We go on the visit together with other people. The first group starts at 10 am. The others finish at different times, with the last group ending their visit at 4 o’clock.

In the afternoon, you will take a quick tour of Kinshasa city. You will learn about the lively culture and history of Kinshasa by visiting important places, a busy market, and the Congo River. When you travel with a local guide, they will tell you the interesting stories about each place you visit, like the National Museum, Kabila’s Mausoleum, and the Place of Independence. Have dinner at Flore Restaurant, have lunch at Majestic River Restaurant (with a view of the river and Brazzaville), and stay overnight at our hotel in Kinshasa.

Day 4: N’Sele Valley Park and Boat Ride on the Congo River - Congo Visit

After you eat breakfast at your hotel in Kinshasa, go to Parc de la vallée de la N’sele. Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele is a park in the western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the area called Maluku. It takes about 90 minutes to get from the city center Kinshasa. It not only helps in saving things but also gives a place to rest and have fun. The park has clean and refreshing air for visitors to enjoy. More and more animals from the Congo are coming to live here.

This has lions, impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, rhinos, and elephants. There are many things to do near the park. Riding bicycles, paddling in a kayak, walking in nature, or gliding on a Zip line. Right now, the plant-eaters live freely. There are lions, crocodiles, and monitor lizards all together in a fenced area. In the end, all animals should be let out of cages to live freely.

After playing games at Parc de la vallée de N’sele, you will go to Safaris Beach for a beautiful one hour boat ride on the Congo River. The cruise is done on a fast boat with an experienced captain who takes you on an interesting ride along the river for a whole hour.

Day 5: Traveling to and from your hotel or the airport - Congo Visit

In the morning, you will go to N’djili International Airport to leave.
