7-Day Sensational Great Rift Valley Safari
You'll explore the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro and the amazing African elephants in Amboseli then discover the amazing bird species at Lake Naivasha or enjoy a bike ride at Hell's Gate. Lastly, you'll enjoy the amazing Maasai Mara culture at Masai Mara National Reserve while observing the big cats in the park as well as the great wildebeest migration.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our driver and an office representative will meet you. After customs procedures, you will depart Nairobi and drive to Amboseli National Park. You'll arrive for lunch at your lodge. Later, you will have an afternoon game drive to spot some unique animals and get to see the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro. Located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa, Amboseli National Park is one of the most popular parks in Kenya. One of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. On a clear evening, you can catch a view of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge.
This being a full day in the Amboseli, you will have the option of a full-day game drive or morning and afternoon game drives. Amboseli is the home to great herds of elephants and with the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is a favorite spot for photographers. Also to be found in the Amboseli are herds of wildebeest, buffaloes, gazelles, and many other wildlife. Amboseli National Park stands out mainly for its elephant terrain and of course, for the presence of Kilimanjaro in the background. Although many more animals will be seen, as in all parks, what is most striking is the high presence of elephants. All the African Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo) are easily seen here among other wild animals such as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hyrax, dik-dik, lesser kudu, hippo, wildebeest, mongoose, nocturnal porcupine and many more. Prolific birdlife in this park features 600 species.
After breakfast, you will depart Amboseli with a game drive en route and drive to Lake Naivasha. You'll arrive in Lake Naivasha in time for lunch. Later, you'll have an afternoon boat excursion on the lake and Crescent Island at an extra cost. You will explore the Island on foot. The Island is home to a variety of bird species and hosts giraffes, zebras, impalas, and waterbucks among other animals. One lake that should be part of your tourism route in Kenya is that of Naivasha. A great variety of birds and other species of animals are also concentrated here, especially hippos that enjoy its 'turbulent waters'
After breakfast, you will depart Lake Naivasha for Masai Mara National Reserve, passing through the Great Rift Valley. You'll arrive for lunch at the camp. Later, you will have an afternoon game drive. No park in Kenya sees as many animals as the great Masai Mara National Reserve. A flourishing ecosystem that hosts all of Africa’s Big Five, the reserve is an exciting mix of wildlife, savannah, rolling hills, and iconic acacia trees adorning the landscape. If you’re here during the great migration (July – October) you’ll witness the influx of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River into the park on their yearly cycle of survival. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at your camp.
You will be taken on two game drives today, one in the morning before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. Although it might be tempting to stay in bed and wait until the afternoon to explore. The morning game drive is something you don't want to miss.
This is a bush experience that will surely create lifetime memories. You will return to the camp for breakfast and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure before setting out for an evening game drive. Want an unforgettable sight? You'll take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day. Your driver-guide can arrange either of these optional excursion.
Unfortunately, it is the final day of this memorable safari. You will enjoy your final game drive, have breakfast then depart for Nairobi for your flight back home or drop off at your city hotel.
