Day 01 :

Travel to Kibale national park - bigodi swampy walk

Have an early breakfast; pick-up from your hotel by JM Jungle Expeditions' driver guide. Travel westward through Mityana-Masindi-Kyenjojo and get to your accommodation in time for lunch, check in, and then go for lunch. Later, you head out for the nature walk in the Bigodi Swampland. There is a lot of wildlife to enjoy, including primates, a number of monkey species, and lots of birds and butterflies. After the walk, return to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 02 :

Chimpanzee tracking Experience

Have an early breakfast at 6:30 am, and thereafter transfer to the park head offices to convene with other travelers for briefing, and thereafter start the trek into Kibale Forest to find the chimpanzees. After the exciting experience in the forest, return to meet your driver/guide and transfer to your booked lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 03 :

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park - Boat ride on Kazinga channel

After an early breakfast, check out and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Check in at your accommodation to refresh and have lunch. Later transfer to the Kazinga Channel for a boat ride. Enjoy an array of wildlife and birds lining the banks of the channel, including hippos, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, monitor lizards, etc. Return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 04 :

Early morning Game Drive -Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early breakfast, check out of the accommodation, and head out for the early morning game drive to catch the nocturnal and hunters. Drive to the southern sector of the park called Ishasha, popular for the tree-climbing lions and lots of big game, including large herds of elephants and buffaloes, kobs, topis, waterbucks, leopards, hyenas, and wonderful scenery. The game lasts approximately 3 hours, then you check out of the park and travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Lunch is en route, and dinner is at your booked Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 05 :

Gorilla tracking - batwa community walk

Have an early cup of tea/coffee, pick up a packed lunch and enough drinking water, and transfer to the park offices to allocate a gorilla family and be briefed by the rangers. Thereafter, transfer to the start of the trek and head into the thick jungles to find these great apes. After an hour of observing and photographing the mountain gorillas, return to meet your driver/guide, transfer to the park offices once again, and thereafter return to the accommodation to relax and later visit the local communities along the highlands. Return to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 06 :

Travel back to Kampala - (lunch en route) - stop over at the equator

After breakfast in the morning, check out and drive back to Kampala. Lunch is en route in Mbarara. Another stop is made at the Equator point for some photo moments. Continue to Kampala and drop off at your hotel or transfer to Entebbe International Airport.

How long are the road transfers?

Depending on the route, drives range from 3 to 7 hours. Your guide will plan stops for breaks, views, and photos along the way.

When is the best time to take this tour?

June to August and December to February offer ideal weather. Still, Uganda is suitable for travel year-round.

Is Uganda safe for visitors?

Yes. Uganda’s major tourism areas are safe and welcoming. Your guide follows secure routes and ensures your comfort throughout the trip.

What should I pack?

Light clothing, long trousers, hiking boots, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, warm layers, a rain jacket, and a reusable water bottle. For trekking, gloves and gaiters are useful.

How challenging is gorilla or chimp trekking?

Both activities involve walking through forested terrain. Gorilla trekking can be moderately demanding, while chimp trekking is usually shorter. Basic fitness is enough, and porters can assist.

Is gorilla trekking part of the 6 day tour?

Some 6 day itineraries include gorilla trekking in Bwindi or Mgahinga. If your package includes it, we will secure your gorilla permit in advance.

What accommodation should I expect?

You will stay in comfortable mid-range lodges or tented camps located close to national parks. Luxury upgrades are available on request.

Do I need a visa for Uganda?

Yes. Most visitors need an e-visa. It’s best to apply online at least two weeks before your trip.

What is excluded from the price?

International flights, visas, travel insurance, drinks, tips, laundry, and optional activities are not included.
