5-Day Safari and Hiking Usambara Mountains
This trip will take you to Arusha NP, Mkomazi NP, and the Usambara mountains. In this way, you will experience wildlife and extraordinary nature in the mountains. You will see the wild dogs in Mkomazi NP, which are not very often seen in the other NP in Tanzania. The combination of safari and hiking ensures that you will experience Tanzania significantly.
After breakfast, the car will pick you up and drive you to Arusha National Park. Here, you will see giraffes, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and occasionally a lion. You will take a lunchbox, and the whole day can be a game drive. Or you can choose to hike for some hours with an armed ranger. Dinner will be served in Moshi in the BruBru lodge.
After early breakfast, you will drive to Mkomazi National Park. It is a quiet but very interesting park due to the wild dogs which you will see here. Furtermore there is a rhino sanctuary which you can visited. You will stay overnight in the park where lunch and dinner will be served.
After an early breakfast, you'll enjoy a game drive in Mkomazi National Park is on the program, or visit the rhino sanctuary in the park. You will see a lot of wildlife in the park. In the afternoon, you will head to the Usambara mountains, a rainforest area where you will stay in a nice cottage.
Today, you will hike to Irente viewpoint, and a local guide will show you the beauty of the Usambara mountains. You'll see how they grow the banana plantations, how they produce the bricks, and enjoy the beautiful views at Irente viewpoint. You'll enjoy a local lunch at a small restaurant where they produce nice bread and cheese.
In the morning, there is time to rest or to do another hike in the Usambara Mountains, or just wander through Lushoto to feel the local life. After lunch, you will drive back to Arusha, where you will be dropped off wherever you want.
