We will pick you up at 8:30 am from your accommodation or Entebbe Airport and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. It will be a slow-paced drive. Your guide will answer any questions as he explains the different histories of the communities along your route. We shall break the journey to visit the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an exciting rhino trek. En route, you will stop for a meal and stretch a little as you prepare for the final drive to the lodge. On your way, you will have the chance to view the beautiful wild waters of Karuma Falls and the full-time residents of this area, the olive baboons, and thereafter you will check into your accommodation for dinner and evening relaxation as you anticipate the following day's adventure.
You'll wake up by 6:00 am, have a cup of tea or coffee with a snack, and head out into the park for an early morning game drive to see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, and an array of savannah birds. This is one of the best times to go on a game drive, with cooler temperatures allowing a range of wildlife to feed and providing great opportunities for photo shoots.
Later, after a sumptuous meal, get ready for another adventure along the Nile on a boat and watch more animals, including hippos, crocodiles, and several waterbirds. Finish with a hike to the spectacular Murchison Falls. A breathtaking view awaits you at the top, exhilarating and captivating. From the top of the falls, your guide will pick you up for another exciting evening game drive through the park, exposing you to more wildlife preparing for the night hunts. After, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and evening relaxation as the day's adventure runs through your mind.
After a delicious morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a 4 to 5-hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for its chimpanzees. Although the journey to Kibale is a bit long, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of the countryside, national parks, terrain, forests, rivers, lakes, plantations, cattle, trading centres, and the smiling locals going about their daily activities—perfect for unforgettable photo opportunities. Upon arrival, you'll check into your accommodation and enjoy lunch, and relax or embark on an optional afternoon/evening nature walk. Later, you’ll retire back to the lodge for dinner and evening relaxation as you prepare for the next day's activities.
After an early breakfast, you'll head to Kibale National Park headquarters for a ranger briefing on the dos and don'ts while trekking with the chimpanzees. After the briefing, you will be led into the forest. Kibale National Park in Uganda is renowned for its high chimpanzee population and is a prime destination for chimpanzee trekking and habituation experiences. The chimpanzee groups are highly vocal, and it’s often possible to hear their calls from a mile away. Trekking with the chimpanzees usually takes between three to five hours, and you are allowed to spend only one hour observing them, so make the most of that time to take as many photos as possible. Afterward, you'll head back to the lodge to check out (you can choose to have lunch there or en route) and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and check into your accommodation, and have dinner. You'll have a relaxed evening as you await the next day's activities.
You will have an early breakfast. Then, you'll check out of your accommodations and start the day with a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its wildlife, including elephants, tree-climbing lions, leopards, buffalo, and a variety of antelope species. You can choose to visit the Kikorongo Equator Monument that marks the point where the imaginary line of the equator crosses the country, dividing it into the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. You'll have a break and relax as lunch is served at the lodge. The afternoon adventure entails a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a natural water stream joining Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel attracts a large school of hippos and Nile crocodiles, besides the variety of birds that flock to the reed shores like the pelicans, kingfishers, saddle-billed storks, and sometimes the crowned cranes. You will have an evening game drive. Thereafter, you'll return to your accommodation in time for your dinner and relax.
You'll have a delicious breakfast, check out of the accommodation, and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is famously known for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are hard to spot. From here, you'll proceed to Bwindi National Park, which is known for a large habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, harbouring an estimated 1,000 mountain gorillas, which is roughly half of the world’s population. It includes several habituated groups, which can be tracked. Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. With an exciting, unforgettable, adventurous day ahead, you will relax and do less on arrival. Just check into your accommodation as you await the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the next day.
After an early morning breakfast, you'll head to the ranger’s post for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park feels like stepping into a lost world, unchanged for millennia. The journey is not easy through the thick vegetation, but the sounds of a gorilla family breaking branches ahead will quicken your pulse. As you follow the trackers, the moment will come when you finally set eyes on one of our closest relatives, and all your fatigue will vanish. You'll be allowed to stay with the gorillas for 1 hour and take the chance to take as many photos as you can before returning to the lodge to check out. You will then head to Lake Bunyonyi, known as the "Switzerland of Africa" and famous for its lush, terraced hills, 29 islands like the famous punishment island (each with its own unique story), and over 200 bird species. You'll check into your lodge and choose a canoe ride (extra cost) before returning for dinner and relaxation.
After a delicious, relaxing breakfast, you'll check out of your accommodation and head to Lake Mburo National Park, which is Uganda's smallest savannah park and known for its diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife, including zebras, impalas, elands, and over 350 bird species. It's characterised by a mosaic of habitats like acacia woodland, rocky ridges, and wetlands, with 5 of its 13 lakes lying within the park's borders. The scenic journey from Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park offers a visual feast of Uganda's diverse landscapes. Starting with the terraced hills and deep waters of Lake Bunyonyi, the route transitions through the "Switzerland of Africa" with its rolling hills and cool climate, before arriving at the open savannah and acacia woodlands of Lake Mburo. The journey provides a contrast between the lush, watery scenery of Bunyonyi and the wildlife-rich plains of Mburo. You'll check into your accommodation and relax, awaiting the next day's adventure.
After your morning breakfast, you'll head out for the cycling adventure to the park gate and register for the cycling activity, which will take 2 to 3 hours. This unforgettable adventurous experience gives you a chance to get close to zebras, impalas, and other animals in the park. You will take very scenic, adventurous photos. In case you cannot ride, we also offer guided nature walks instead. Therefore, let us know which option works best for you. Afterward, you'll return to the lodge for lunch. Later, you can choose to take a 2-hour boat cruise (at extra cost) on Lake Mburo, which offers a serene and unique way to experience the park's wildlife and scenery. Expect to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and various bird species like kingfishers, fish eagles, and herons. The dry season (June to August and December to January) is ideal for sightings as animals gather near the shores. You'll return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After a delicious, relaxing breakfast, you will check out of your accommodation and begin the return journey to Entebbe, arriving in the afternoon in time for your flight. Along the way, you'll take some time to stop for photos and check the various crafts and souvenirs for sale. If time allows, our driver will take you to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, and visit the African Crafts Market, or will drop you off at the international airport for your onward travels or your booked accommodation at extra cost. As you bid farewell to Uganda on take off, you will ascend over the beautiful scenery of Lake Victoria, reflecting on the unforgettable moments of your adventure, especially gazing into the brown eyes of a mountain Gorilla.
We are grateful to have taken you on this unforgettable safari and look forward to seeing you again or welcoming any referrals on your next visit. Thank you for choosing Wildmist Adventures tours and travel for unforgettable moments.
